Chef of the Year and Waiter of the Year competitions

Semi-finalists will be announced in March.

 

We are one of the main partners choosing the next Chef of the Year and Waiter of the Year at the Spring Fair from 4–6 April, 2019, at the Messukeskus Expo and Convention Centre in Helsinki. The competitions will now be organized for the first time as part of a public event that is open to everyone, also giving others besides professionals a chance to witness the best Finnish restaurant talents.

The application period is from 15 November 2018 to 15 January 2019. The search fo Chef of the Year has now ended, but  Waiter of the Year competition has been extended to 24 February 2019. Based on the preliminary task, eight semi-finalists will be chosen for each competition, and four will go on to compete in the finals. The semi-finalists will be announced in March.

The candidates must be Finnish citizens working as professionals in the restaurant and catering industry. The language of the competition is Finnish. Previous winners may not take part in the competition.
